Design Challenge
Team with the PLNU Office of Sustainability to promote Creation Care Week. The goal is to engage the campus community, spark conversation, build empathy, and inspire action as stewards of our common home. How might we illuminate the effects of climate change and its impact on people, biodiversity, and the planet? What is currently being done collectively to mitigate climate change? What actions can individuals take? Use social science research findings to effectively communicate about climate change in a polarized world.
Design Solution
The aim of my poster was to highlight that the impacts of climate change in New Zealand reflect challenges faced across the globe. During my research, I came across the Māori phrase “He Waka Eke Noa,” meaning “a canoe we all share, together.” This expression captured the essence of the issue, emphasizing both our shared global responsibility and the specific struggles faced by the people of New Zealand in confronting climate change.
